Christmas is a time of celebrating how light conquered darkness. For Christians it was the birth of Jesus that brought light into the darkness of a lost world. For the ancient Celts, in a pre-Christian time, they too celebrated at his time of year. They called this time the winter solstice – celebrating the shortest darkest day because it marked the time of the turning sun. They knew they were now on their way back to the longest brightest day. The Blessings Of Half Way
I don’t know about you, but I have lots of experiences where getting to the half way mark in any adventure or project filled me with so much hope. When you get half way in anything, you can get a second wind and really feel boosted to keep going.
For me, these experiences normally happen when I’m half way up a mountain. But not always. Can you think of a time when reaching the half way mark spurred you on and kept you going?
The Winter Solstice is a Half Way Point
When I get to the winter solstice I feel like celebrating. I am half way through winter and getting closer to the beginning of spring. Suddenly life can be more manageable for me, and maybe for you.
Apply this to your life. What are you struggling with? Perhaps it is making a big or even a small change to your work, your exercise programme, your water intake… Maybe you are going through cancer treatments and you are struggling to hang in there. Perhaps you are in the depths of depression and you feel stuck.
Seasons Offer Hope
There are so many stress induced dark challenges in the world right now. You don’t have to look very far to find one or two. But just like the seasons in the natural world, you also have seasonal aspects in your energy world. Day is always going to follow night. Light is always going to move into darkness and back into light again.
Spring is always going to follow winter… hope is always going to come knocking at your door. The challenge is to try and focus on the sources of light in your life, especially when you are being overcome with darkness and stress.
Taking A Step Back To Move Forward
Sometimes the challenge can be to try and take a step back from the stresses. When you are standing very close to the wall of a house, you can only see that wall. When you move away from the wall you begin to see more of the whole house.
It is the same with your stresses and struggles that can be keeping you in the darkness. When you can detach a little from the stresses you get more perspective and that can bring more hope.
Stuck In The Rut Of Darkness
We need darkness. It is a natural part of us and our universe. Darkness allows us to rest, and dream and reflect.
But sometimes you can get stuck in the rut of darkness. I know from my own experiences that I can get very used to living in that dark place, I get comfortable there. Then when the light comes along, I can fight against it.
Awareness Is Key
This level of awareness can be really helpful. But only when you don’t use it to beat yourself up for wanting to stay in the darkness. This is the vicious circle of self-sabotage that can be so easy to get into and so hard to get away from.
Self-Sabotage Comes When Stressed
Stress is probably the main reason for self-sabotage. Stress triggers past unresolved pain and hurt, which then triggers those thoughts of ‘it’s my fault’. When it is my fault, I tend to believe I am not worthy of love, or good enough. This is the main reason for self-sabotage.
Tapping Retunes My Darkness
For me, Tapping is what finally helped me to ‘retune’ those dark negative thoughts that were keeping me caught in a spiral of negativity. More important, it was Two Meridian Tapping that helped me to create a more positive spiral of thoughts.
Two Meridian Tapping Eases Stress
Every day, especially in winter, I make sure that I use Two Meridian Tapping at least once. This way I tune myself to a positive energy. When I am tuned to a positive energy vibration, I am less likely to get tuned to a negative and stressful vibration.
When I Tap I also get to tune the new positive thoughts into my automatic subconscious memory bank much quicker. Thanks to the new positive thoughts that have got tuned into my subconscious automatic thought bank, I now automatically vibrate at much higher frequency.
Be Your Own Light This Christmas
The thoughts you think can trigger you into darkness or into light. This Christmas and Solstice time, allow yourself to be the light for your own darkness. Create the scripts that will work for you, like – ‘I truly am lighting my darkness with love’. You can use this script or another one you might have.
Write your truly positive scripts onto a piece of paper and stick that paper in places that will catch your eye, like the bathroom mirror, or your bedside locker. The inside of the cupboard where you keep the cups, so every time you make a cuppa you will see that thought and think that thought. The fridge door is another great place to put a positive script.
Take time an Tap on these positive thoughts, using Two Meridian Tapping, so you get to tune them deeper and deeper into your automatic energy system, then notice how your stress levels reduce.
Natural Wellness Habits
There are other habits that will help you come more into a light energy. Drink water, eat less sugar, be in contact with people who boost your energy, watch movies with happy endings, or play music that calms your heartbeat. The important one is get some exercise to keep your body moving. Perhaps you could put on some music and dance.. Let Your Light Shine
Building other people up has been proven to boost your own energy. You might know this as: random acts of kindness. They don’t have to be major financial acts, but personal acts of kindness, like shooting someone a wee text to say hello, making a brief call to someone you know is struggling. Arrange to go for a walk, watch a movie, just have a cuppa and a catch up. When you do these things try to keep the conversation on drawing the focus towards the light.
Be truly grateful for your life, the breath you are taking right now, the people who cheer you up…
Take Your Space This Christmas
Take time for yourself, just to sit and breathe and be – accepting yourself, as you are. Allow your physical aches and pains to find expression. I see physical pain as being an indication of stuck energy in the body – emotional pain. When I let myself feel into that pain and allow it to find expression, then I get to retune that expressed energy to whatever I choose.
Wherever you are and whoever you are with, I hope you get to focus on and feel light energy in your heart and soul. I truly hope that you can be the light, you need, for yourself in this time of darkness. When your inner light shines bright, it radiates out into the universe and lights up a lot of darkness.
