Moving into the season of Autumn is a great time to talk about the flow of the seasons, and going with the natural energy flow. Let me try to explain what I mean – here goes!
Sensing Your Energy Flow
I love sharing my thoughts about the Natural Energy Flow. EVERYTHING has an energy or vibrational frequency. You have five main senses: your eyes don’t see things, they actually see and interpret vibrations. Your ears sense sound vibrations, your skin, your nose, your tongue all sense vibrations. We call these seeing, hearing, touching, smelling and tasting. The key word is sensing.
You Make Vibrational Choices
Vibrations have measurable frequencies, which you are constantly processing. You don’t really need to know what those actual frequencies are, but you do need to know what is working to enhance your vibration and what is not. Then you can make choices as to what you expose your energy to and what to stay away from.
When an environmental vibration is much stronger than yours, you need to assess if you would be best to get out of its way or go with its flow. There are lots of natural vibrations that are part of your natural flow, but due to stress, trauma, loss and fear, you don’t always go with that natural flow. Stress can cause you to go against your natural flow. Stress can block your natural flow.
Take Darkness Before Sleep
Humans are made to go with the flow of day and night, as well as the seasons. You are naturally programmed to be more awake and active during daylight hours and then more tired as the daylight fades into night and darkness.
The Natural Body Clock
You are naturally meant to begin to feel tired in the evening as the sun sets. As the light dims your body knows it is nearly time for bed. But with all the blue light that is emitted from screens and machines, not to mention LED lights your body fails to release the melatonin you need.
One Natural Sleep Solution
The best way to activate your melatonin (naturally is to experience a time of total darkness, just before you sleep. Melatonin is essential for helping you to get a good night’s sleep. Your circadian rhythm is your natural energy flow. We Kinesiologists call it, your natural body clock.
This is why it is so important to spend some time in total darkness before you close your eyes and go to sleep. By taking a time of total darkness before you sleep you allow your body to retune after the blue light exposure, slow down into rest, your melatonin to release and the result is you will sleep better.
The Natural Energy Flow
It naturally follows that you should have more energy when you are awake and less as you approach sleep. This is because the natural environment works with your natural environment. In winter time you are naturally inclined to want to sleep more because it is darker for longer. In summer you are naturally inclined to sleep less because of the longer and brighter days.
Regardless you should still be able to sleep well if you are exposed to natural daylight and natural darkness.
For Everything There Is A Time
Did you know you have a natural body clock – called the meridian body clock. When you are in your natural right flow, or in balance, you will be tired in the evening and more alert in the morning. When you are not in that natural flow, you can experience alertness at night and exhaustion in the morning.
Anything that causes you stress can knock your body clock out of balance. When you Meridian Body Clock is out your neurotransmitters are out of balance and this causes your hormones to be out of balance – causing more stress!
Kinesiology Brings Balance
Attending a Kinesiologist every couple of months can help you to keep your body clock in balance. I also have a specific Meridian Body Clock Two Meridian Tapping sequence that I use with clients to help them rebalance all meridians, neurotransmitters and hormones.
Autumn Eases Into Winter
Autumn is the time for you to prepare yourself for a more restful winter. Winter is your time for rest, reflection and renewal. It’s a time to rest more, eat warmer foods, be less adventurous, read books, etc. Winter is your soul/energy nourishment time, if you can let it be.
Summer is the time for soul expression. You will have more energy, feel happier in yourself, see more colour, get more easily excited and want to go off and explore because you have lots of energy. If you find that you are the opposite to this, then it is possible that you are out of sync with your natural rhythm and you might benefit from some energy retuning.
Seasons Help You Go With The Flow
The seasons, just like the days are helping us to go with our own natural energy flow. But with artificial light, lots of processed goods that are hight in sugar and trans fats, more stresses, and the screens and machines that we have become addicted to, we tend not to go with the natural flow of the seasons.
Flowing Into Autumn – Naturally
This August allow yourself to be aware of all the signs of Autumn as they appear. When I was teaching children about the seasons I used to tell them that autumn and spring are mixed up seasons. I was referring to the weather and how we could have sun and rain and hot and cold altogether in one day.
Autumn And Spring Are Transitional Seasons
Autumn and Spring are transitional seasons, they help you to move from summer to winter and back again. Just like a clock gets you from morning to night by traveling through minutes and hours, autumn and spring are helping you get from the one extreme of darkness and shorter days to the other extreme of brighter and longer days.
I see Autumn as offering me the opportunity to go with the Natural Energy Flow. The days get shorter and shorter and the temperature drops little by little. I am getting told ‘you are moving into a time of darkness and now is the time to steady and ready yourself.’
Awareness & Invitation This Autumn
I write this blog just as we enter the season of Autumn, to offer you awareness and an invitation. Quite often, when you are aware of what is happening, you tend to cope better.
Tune Into Autumn
The invitation is to deliberately and consciously allow your energy to tune into autumn this August. I know Autumn has already begun, but You might like to still do the following ritual: There is a Celtic Tradition to first open the back door to let summer move on with all its lessons and blessings. As you do this you pray gratitude for all summer gifted you with before saying good bye and tune into Autumn. Now say good bye to summer and close the back door.
Then walk to the front door, being aware that you are walking into Autumn. Autumn is the season of celebrating the richness of harvest from all the summer has gifted you. This harvest is there to help you flow through winter.
All the trips you took, the experiences you had, the fun, the light, the warmth, all blessings. Of course there were challenges too, and they, in some way, brought you learning. Not to mention all the natural food harvests the summer has provided to also sustain you through winter.
Letting Go This Autumn
The Second part of autumn happens the closer we get to winter. This is the letting go part of autumn and the trees really show us how this is done. Autumn invites you to let go of the busy-ness as you prepare to move into darker and colder days of winter.
Letting go can be the thing that causes you to fight against the seasons. Generally this is because you have experienced pain of being forced to let go of a loved one, through separation, divorce, moving house or death. It can also be due to unresolved past trauma and you are caught in a constant stress triggering cycle.
Not Wanting To Let Go
As a result of unresolved past experiences, including loss, you can tend to see letting go as a negative thing. The world has also done its part in educating you into wanting to stay in the light and perhaps even fearing the darkness. But in essences darkness is only the absence of light, nothing else. Darkness is an essential part of wellness as it helps you reset your whole energy system.
Open Your Front Door To Autumn
Each morning as you open your front door, focus on opening your energy to the flow of Autumn. Welcome all the harvest each day brings and welcome the opportunity to let go into a more restful and peaceful winter this year – you will feel better for it.
My Secret
Full disclosure. This post is meant for me, as much as it is meant for you. I am a seasonal being. I struggle with slowing into winter and then moving through. That is why I tend to move into a more creative and reflective space as Autumn and Winter approach.
What Helps Me Through Winter
I also will up my nutrition and make sure to have a few Kinesiology treatments to help me. I will use my Two Meridian Tapping system, and Rebound For my Wellness. All these things will help me to go with the natural flow of the seasons in me and in nature.
The reason I made these tools public was because they work so well for me. I can only hope they will work as well for you. To date, the feedback is that they do work, very well, for others.
Creative Soul Retreats
This year I am offering Creative Soul Workshop/Retreat Days for those who struggle to go with the natural flow especially through winter – be that through grief and loss or just in your busy and stressful life.
These Creative Days will take place during Autumn and Winter. Some days will just involve creative process with soul expression through colour on paper and other days will involve creative process with expression through stained glass. On both days you will begin the day by making yourself a miron glass energy pendant, which you can also take home with you as well as your colour or stained glass piece.
Only 4 people will attend on each day. Should you prefer to have a 1:1 Creative Experience that can also be arranged.
