Do you struggle to meditate? Perhaps you think meditation is only something successful people do. I have been promising to create an online programme to help people mediate for several years, because I know the benefits of meditating. This post explains how Two MeridianTapping will help you to get into meditation and why the 10 week programme could work for you.
Most Can’t Meditate
It might surprise you to know that when it comes to mediation, many fail. No matter what techniques they try, how they try to meditate, or where they try to meditate, they just can’t manage it. I have been one of those people. Life happens to us all. We can get out of control busy no matter how we plan our day or week.
Stress Blocks Meditation
When I get stressed I cannot settle into meditation. When I get totally over-stressed, to the point where I am hyper vigilant, I cannot calm myself to do anything especially meditating. Even sleep can be out of reach for me when I am over stressed.
When you are stressed it can be really difficult to to calm your energy enough to think clearly of hold a conversation, never mind to meditate. That is why I use TMT (Two Meridian Tapping)
Two Meridian Tapping Before Meditation
When I use Two Meridian Tapping I find that my whole energy system comes into a real grounded place and meditation can happen. After Tapping I could stay mediating for long periods of time. Two Meridian Tapping also helps me to be more creative. You can generally find me in the shed creating glass pieces for hours after a few rounds of Two Meridian Tapping.
Years Of Meditation Experience
I spent many years in Religious Life and during this time I learned a lot about mindfulness and meditation. I meditated a few times everyday. I worked hard on making my whole day reflective, with awareness and detachment.
I remember hearing the story about a Tibetan Monk who spent years meditating to reach inner stillness. One day he realised he had reached this place of stillness, and then straight away he had lost it again!
What does this mean. Well I take from it, that you can spend all your life seeking inner stillness – that place where nothing disturbs you. Where there are no words, no images, just inner silence. A place where you are not conscious of anything or anyone, not even yourself. But as soon as you realise you are in this place you are conscious again. When you are conscious you are no longer in that place of stillness.
Inner Stillness Is Fleeting
True stillness, is fleeting. It is really difficult to calm the mind, both conscious and sub-conscious. I think it is better to see meditation as a journey to stillness, a skill or a practice.
Meditation is a tool.
It is the art of bringing yourself into a place of stillness or ‘no-thing-ness’. I see meditating as being something of an art form. Like most art forms it does take lots of practice. One of the hardest things to do is still the subconscious thinking mind, especially when you are stressed, upset, anxious, traumatised, etc.
Deepak Chopra talks about how trauma can prevent someone from meditating. But he also acknowledges how Energy Psychology methods like Tapping can help:
“I am an advocate for meditation. However, trauma, anxiety and other emotional problems can interfere with the health benefits of meditation, and can even make it hard to meditate at all. Fortunately, energy psychology methods can help.” Deepak Chopra.
Benefits of Meditating
Meditating beings many benefits. It has been proven to be so effective for improving gut health, mood, slowing aging, helping you to be more effective in work, easing pain, improving sleep, increasing creativity and much much more. But if you are coping with unresolved trauma from your past and are continuously hyper-vigilant, anxious, stressed, you will find it very difficult and virtually impossible to meditate successfully.
Tapping And Meditating Are A Recipe For Success
This is why I truly know that Two Meridian Tapping makes the art of meditating possible. Tapping before you settle into meditating will calm your stress and resolve some of the past trauma too. Once you are in a calmer place you can meditate better. This is a recipe for success.
Set Yourself Up For Meditation Success
In my experience if you want to succeed at anything you need to set your self up for success from the beginning. Being stressed when you begin to meditate is setting yourself up for failure. Thinking you can meditate for 10 minutes even 5 minutes could also be setting yourself up for failure.
This is why I start people off with just 1 minute meditation time – you can do 1 minute. It is also why I am running this 10 week meditation programme beginning on September 7th at 8pm (Dublin time).
The Programme
Each week I will use Two Meridian Tapping to bring you from stress to calm. Then you will begin meditating – starting with just 1 minute.
Each week you will have homework to do – this will get you into both skills of Two Meridian Tapping and Meditating with ease.
All Things Are Possible
You might think that you are a lost cause, nothing will get you meditating! I have worked with many people who are afraid to still their mind. They are afraid of what will happen if they slow down their mind because it is always racing. Tapping will make that fear ease and your belief in yourself grow. Commit to following this programme to the letter and you will get the results you want.
