If you have suffered from anxiety and non-trigger panic attacks then you know that finding a natural solution is like striking gold. Well, I can tell you that I struck gold. I found a lasting solution and it has turned my life, and the lives of so many others, right around.
You might think ‘she’s mad’! How could I manage to calm and control these major attacks using natural technologies? Well, I did and the key and up til then missing link, was Tapping.
My Anxiety Was Out Of Control
It all happened for me nearly 10 years ago. Even though I was making all the right lifestyle choices, I still got over-stressed. I could see what was happening, a bit like the car brakes failing on a steep hill. When I had a panic attack I was veering down that hill totally out of control and now I can say it’s the stuff of nightmares.
If you have had such an attack you know the symptoms. Some of us have all the symptoms and some have only a few. For me; it was full blown panic attacks that left me with this sudden urge run! I thought I had to get away or I’d be violently sick.
I Got Really Good Anxiety Advice
A friend of mine who is a psychiatric nurse told me “don’t run. Put you back up against the nearest wall and don’t run.” Instead of running, she suggested I breathe and tell myself, this is going to pass, it is just a panic attack.
When in a panic attack, I was always too panicked to follow her very good professional advice. A panic attack or anxiety attack is an over-stressed – stress response. There is no rational thinking during a panic attack because the blood flow is taken from that part of your brain and given to the limbic area where you have access to your subconscious hard drive.
It is in this subconscious part of the brain that you have all the very strong thoughts of: I can’t cope! I’m not good enough! I don’t trust myself! When you are thinking these thoughts, you will continue to trigger a stress response. This is how you end up in an over-stressed state.
Non-Trigger Panic Attacks
The panic attacks I was having were non-trigger. They came out of nowhere, with no warning and there was no logic to any of it. So I was very unlikely to be able to think that thought of: ‘put your back to the wall and breathe’.
I could not go outside on my own. I was afraid I would have an attack. I could not lead a normal life at all. I was in a very over-stressed mode all of the time.
Don’t Say Relax Or Calm Down!
One of the key things that I learnt from this whole experience was: ‘Don’t tell someone who is having a panic attack to calm down or breathe’! That just puts them under more pressure making them them more panicked.
Calm Anxiety By Demonstrating Calm
However, I have discovered that a better way is to actually demonstrate how to begin to slow their breathing. To begin with, have your breathing style close to where the level of person in panic – fast and shallow and then begin to slow your breathing down, making your breaths that bit deeper and longer.

Eye Contact Helps Calm Anxiety
Having eye-contact with someone who is in a panic attack is key to calming their energy. When you are in a panic attack you really can find it difficult to hear and action what someone is saying. But, the person in a panicked state can see you and follow your actions better than they can hear you. As you slow your breathing, talk in a lowered and calm voice and watch how the panic eases and their breathing calms.
Another reason for asking the person in a packed state to look at you and do what you are doing is it takes them out of their panicked thought process and makes them pay attention to what you are doing. This brings me to that well known phrase: where attention goes – energy flows.
The attention shifts from the negative thinking which is creating the panicked emotions, to the positive actions, thoughts and then eventually will come the positive emotions of calm.
Place A Hand On Your Solar-Plexus Area
While you are calming the breathing, place your hand on your solar-plexus area and ask the person to do the same. This is your power centre. The place where you have a lot of organs working away through the panic.
Placing your hand on your Power Centre and does help to deepen the breath. They can place both hands on this area if they feel comfortable doing so. I place my hands on my solar plexus quote often through the day. I find it an empowering exercise, especially around strong personalities.
Tapping Gave Me My Life Back
My life totally turned around when I began to use Tapping. I can’t recommend it enough for helping to calm the stress response in your energy system and then for helping you to resolve and retune the stresses in your energy.
I didn’t even realise my panic attacks had gone for a couple of weeks. I was in school (teaching) when all of a sudden I noticed I had not had a single attack all week. Before the Tapping I was having attacks everyday, it was truly exhausting and traumatic in itself.
Tapping Can Be Your Key
Tapping worked so well for me. I have not had a single panic Attack since that nearly ten years ago. Stress is still in my life and yes I do get stressed, but, I manage that stress so well now. I am living my best life again. I did have some previous experience of Tapping from when I was training to be a Kinesiologist. But, I truly didn’t know how great it tool it really was until I used it on the panic attacks and anxiety state I was experiencing.
Nothing Happens By Accident
I could say that I happened upon Tapping by accident at that time, but being an energist and one who knows the Law of Attraction, there is no such thing as accidents.. I was meant to find Tapping and experience how well it worked, otherwise how could I tell you all about it. I truly am grateful that I attracted Tapping into my life at that time.
