Winter solstice is on its way. That is the thought I had this morning. I woke early and was pondering life. Then it dawned on me that the winter solstice is fast approaching. Being someone who is affected by the darker weather, I was delighted to be thinking of the turning sun. I love this idea of beginning to turn away from the darkness into the light again. It just fills my entire being with hope and joy. I feel energized and grateful that I get another chance to grow into the light.
Our Ancestors Celebrated The Darkness
Our Celtic ancestors celebrated this time of turning sun with great reverence and joy. They were so delighted to be half way through another winter. They had light rituals honouring how important the sun was in their lives. That’s how I feel in winter. I am always delighted to be turning back from darkness to the light.
Celebrating Light in Winter
Winter solstice is celebrated around the 21st December. I’m glad that today I have become aware of the solstice approaching because now I can take some time to be present to the amazing sun energy. I am a seasonal energy being. The dark, damp and wet weather calls me to go inside and rest. Like the outer energy of the winter season, my energy can naturally feel heavy and low. I sometimes liken it to being dark inside.
Darkness Magnifies Depression and Anxiety
Looking back on my life, I can see how I used to run from this darkness in the past. I was afraid that if I went into this darker space I wouldn’t be able to get out of it. Now I see that I was in a very dark space – all of the time – and not just in winter.
It might sound funny, but I got out of that dark place by listening to and honouring all that was my darkness. That was not an easy journey. It was probably made longer because of the continued triggering of the over-stressed state that I was in, since childhood. .
Thanks to Tapping, I have retuned that over-stressed state. Now, I am able to honour the darkness each winter. I still feel that darkness on the inside, and that is natural for all of us. But I know that the sun is turning and soon I will be back on the brighter side of the sun again. I also find that I only truly see the power of the light when it is really dark. I need those winter months to help me retune and refocus my energy for my wellness and success.
My Challenge To See The Light
Sometimes the greatest challenge is to see the light and let it shine through, even in your darkest and hardest days. Light is truly powerful. It is transformational. Even just thinking of the phrase “faster than the speed of light” conjures up images of an amazing energy. Light is an amazing energy, one we all need and for many, many reasons. The thought you are thinking right now can bring light or darkness to your energy, depending on its vibration. That one thought can cause you a stress response or a wellness benefit.
