The other day, at one of my monthly group Tapping sessions, I had a lady tell me how Tapping had helped calm her down in the middle of the night so she could get back to sleep.
It was the middle of the night after a stressful day at work. Things were still running around in her head from a situation where she had not been able to correct someone who had ‘put words in her mouth’. She told me she had been quite upset by this experience and was very annoyed at someone doing this to her.
Annoyance and Resentment Cause Stress
I don’t know about you, but I sure have had occasions when I have wakened in the night with some issue or another running around in my head because of it had not yet got resolved. Lying awake, playing the annoyance through your head, over and over again.
Tapping Can Reduce Annoyance, Anger and Resentment
One of the key tools that I use in this state is Tapping. If I sit up in the bed and Tap on ‘I truly am annoyed because …’ after even just one round I will find my energy calming down. Tapping allows me to catch up with my annoyed self. Then I can generally see that this annoyed reaction is because there is something unresolved, in my past, that is triggering me at some level.
You React Because You Have Unresolved Energy In Your System
You react because there is a similar vibration somewhere in your energy system that needs retuned. Tapping allows that upset, angry, annoyed or anxious energy to retune to a better, calmer and more peaceful vibration.
Tapping In The Mode is Always Best
When Roger Callahan stumbled across Tapping in the 1980’s, he was working with a woman who had such a severe phobia of water that she couldn’t wash her own children. He happened to ask the client where she was feeling the distress in her body. She said she felt sick in her stomach. Then it dawned on Roger that the stomach energy pathway began under the eye, so he asked the client to tap this point on both sides of her body while she was ‘in the mode’ of feeling so sick.
Within 5 minutes this woman who couldn’t bear to drive in the rain or pass the sea was standing at the side of the pool that was in the complex where her therapist worked and she was running her hands through the water, with “NO FEAR”.

Back to my client who got up in the night, did three rounds of tapping while she was feeling annoyed, upset, etc. The tapping really worked for her that night. She was able to relax a little, see the issue for what it was – a reaction and triggering, retune her thoughts around it and then fall into a much more relaxed sleep.
