Sometimes I can’t find the words to express what Tapping has done for me. I don’t think I would be where I am today without Tapping. If you are new to Tapping you might be wondering what on earth is Tapping? It is a very effective technique that gets you to tap on certain points on your body to help you reduce stress.
My First Tapping Experience
I’ve written before about how I first was introduced to tapping many, many years ago when training as a Systematic Kinesiologist. During my Diploma training course I was shown how to use Thought Field Therapy, the original form of modern day Tapping. I did use this form successfully with clients but never really took to it myself.
Then I Got Very Stressed
Fast forward some 10 years when I was extremely overstressed and suffering with non-trigger panic attacks. These attacks would come out of nowhere and left me stuck to the ground with my heart pounding. I would feel like I was going to throw-up and I had to run. But my feet were stuck to the ground. I would overheat and feel so helpless and hopeless.
Have You Ever Had a Panic Attack?
These attacks could happen at any time and with anyone. There was no clear trigger. No indication of one thing causing another and leading to the attack. Yes I was very stressed. Yes there was a lot going on in my life at that time. I was attending Therapy and found this helpful, but the attacks were not easing and I was feeling very depressed in it all.
Nothing Makes Sense In A Panic Attack
There was no logical sense to how an attack would happen or with how I was acting when panicked. When I would calm down again. I would be totally baffled with my panicked behaviour and the thoughts that would be running through my head were not rational or helpful. I even felt I was going to die if I didn’t get away from what or who, I don’t know.
Then Along Came EFT Tapping
Then one day an add for the Tapping World Summit pops into my Facebook feed. This 10 day Tapping experience was online and I threw myself into it. I was tapping everyday and more than once in the day.
Tapping Was My Missing Link
It was Tapping that helped me to get calm enough so I could search and find the answers to the many questions I had, like: Why was I panicked? What was causing it and who was triggering it. There was a whole of of trauma well rooted in my past and Tapping helped me to resolve and retune those past traumas to states of calm and peace and in my book that is success.
Why did Tapping work so well? I am still trying to answer that question. I think it is because of the combination of thinking specific thoughts while tapping on energy points on the body.
Tapping Changed My Life Forever
That Tapping experience changed my life forever. The panic attacks vanished, never to return. The anxiety and stress lingered for a while longer, but I was managing it all with the tapping I was doing.
Once I was managing my days better and was no longer feeling anxious I thought I didn’t need to tap anymore. But that quickly changed. It isn’t that the anxiety from the past is still there, but more that when I don’t tap, I don’t actively focus my energy for what I want to get out of my day.
Daily Tapping Keeps You Calm
What I have realised over this past year in particular is that the days I do not Tap, I tend to get caught up in the stresses that come my way. The days that I do tap I tend to be calmer, more in control of my stress response and definitely less distracted.
I think this is because the New 2-point Tapping system that I use allows me to balance out my Meridian Energy Pathways so that they work better together. When these energy pathways work better together, they help to keep the neurotransmitters and hormones balanced.
Daily Tapping Sets Your Energy Focus
Also, when I Tap I am retuning my whole energy field to the frequency of the positive script or affirmation I am thinking at the time. This sets my energy for the day and keeps me focused. I find the days I don’t do this, other external energies get to be more in control of me and this causes me stress.
Daily Tapping Helps Put You Into A Stress Free Dome
This is why I really encourage you to get Tapping and keep Tapping each day. Not because you are stressed all the time, but to prevent you from getting and being stressed all the time. I always believe that prevention is far better than cure. That is why I encourage all my clients to use tapping as a stress preventive tool rather than wait until they are so stressed that they need help from a coach like me.
Why Don’t You Try Tapping Every Day
Tapping is something you can learn to do quite easily. You can follow videos or you can follow photo diagrams. I have written a step by step guide on how to use my New 2-Point Tapping System and you can get your copy by clicking here. Tapping is one of those dances you set out to learn – once you get it you have it for the rest of your life. It is a natural tool that costs nothing to learn and Coaches are available for you should you have deep past trauma that you need to work through – like I did.
