Are you sick of setting New Year’s Resolutions and before you know it, you are trying to forget you ever made them? You start off with great enthusiasm and even have a vision of how well you will be as a result of these resolutions. Then as the days and weeks pass, you get bored, tired or just plain lazy and there goes another failed resolution. Even though the 1st January has passed, now might be a good time to re-evaluate your New Year’s Resolutions and hit the Re-Set Button so you can have success with your Resolutions this time round.
A Failed New Year’s Resolution Lowers you Self-Esteem
Like everything else in your thought field, failed New Year’s Resolutions add to a subconscious belief in yourself that you are not good enough or not able to achieve – at some level you see yourself as a failure – building on a sense that you have failed again. This generally isn’t what you think at a conscious level. Consciously you can fool yourself into justifying why you were right to give that resolution up.
Let me share just a few tips that might help you make New Year’s Resolutions you can keep.
Having A New Year’s Resolution Plan Is Your Key To Success in 2021
Through my training in the Law of Attraction and Energy Psychology, I know that what you focus your energy on is what you get. That is why it is so important to always set goals that are achievable. When you work from an ‘I can do’ place, you tend be able to see yourself as being more capable of doing what you need to do.
First Step: Set a New Year’s Resolution – Goal
Make it one you are going to work towards and achieve by the end of this New Year.
The key thing in setting this New Year’s Resolution – Goal, is that you won’t be reaching the end goal on the first day. You are going to be working towards this goal over the year. Be realistic in the setting of your goal.
Weight Loss Goals Can Lead to Weight Gain
Your Goal could be to lose weight. This could be something you have struggled with for many years. You begin January with the resolution of joining a support group like ‘weight watchers’. You may even make yourself sick eating all the sugar in the house so it is ‘gone’ from the house before you start. Then, not long into the year, you get stressed and because your ‘go-to’ is eating sugar to help you cope, that is what you do. Then you begin to feel bad because you have eaten sugar and broken your New Year’s Resolution. To comfort yourself you eat more sugar, and so the pattern goes.
The Language We Use and The Energy Our Thoughts Attract
The LAW of Attraction is always seeking to bring to you exactly what it is you ask for at a conscious or subconscious level. The energy doesn’t get the negative intent – so, I don’t want to eat sugar translates as I do want to eat sugar. Equally, when you join a group like Weight Watcher’s, you will always have weight to watch!
Everything is Vibrational – Including New Year’s Resolutions
Remember everything is vibrational – the universe is gifting you with more of what you are vibrating at. If you keep setting a goal to lose weight, then you will have weight to lose. If you set a goal of being ‘pain free’ you will have pain to be free of! That is why I set my New Year’s Resolutions with a positive focus and I set it in the present tense, as if I already had it right now. It is sort of like ‘faking it til you make it’, but what you are doing is creating the vibration you want. Then, the more you think that thought and imagine yourself having reached that goal you vibration is attracting that very vibration into your energy field.
My Advice For Setting New Year’s Resolutions is:
- Set your goal to be healthier and fitter by 2022.
- Then set a Plan for how you will help yourself reach this goal during 2021.
- Set smaller goals that will be like stepping stones to help you get to that goal
- Map Out Your Smaller Achievable Steps – “I Can Do’ Steps
- Take out a yearly calendar and map out your steps so you know what you want to achieve, when and you can see a path to your achieving your goal
- Tell a trusted, supportive friend what your intention is and how you are going to work it out – this is to help you keep to what you have set for yourself.
