Over the past 5 weeks I have been sharing some of my thoughts on Candida and Fungal overgrowths. I have briefly visited the roles processed sugar, stress and damp conditions within us can play in creating and keeping an unwanted fungal overgrowth alive inside. Candida is just one form of fungus that many of us may encounter in our lives. Regardless of the form of fungal overload that we may have, there can be some general lifestyle changes that we could make to help us stay well.
Warning! Warning! Warning! You Might React To Some of the Advice Given
As you read your way through the information below, you might find that you react to some of the advice given. From my many years in Wellness Work, I tend to find that not everyone can make the changes they need to make for their wellness. This can be due to being over stressed which can make us over reliant on the very thing that is causing or feeding the issue. Take sugar for example. When we are over stressed, we are always triggering a stress response and we can get so used to this, that we don’t even see it as a stress response.
One of the things we need a lot of when always stressed is energy to help us prepare for flight or fight. Even if we don’t actually need it because we are not in any physical danger, out body will still automatically produce it every time we trigger a stress response.
We Need To Rethink Processed Sugar When It Comes To Candida
Somehow we have become conditioned to believe that processed sugar gives us energy. That is not really true. Back in 1999 when I first had a kinesiology session I learnt that processed sugar that came in the form of chocolate, sweets, breads and sugary drinks was indeed ‘false energy’! The biggest problem with this ‘false energy’ is the it puts the pancreas under pressure. The pancreas is already under pressure from having to always answer the stress responses call for energy.
The Sugar Needs to Go!
I’m afraid I can put this no other way. You absolutely need to get off that false energy processed sugar if you really want to clear your candida/fungal overgrowth. I think I should also say here that due to the overstressed system you may have, you could have issue breaking down any sugar that you eat. There are great natural and nutritional supports for fixing this, once you take away the sugar. You don’t have to do this on your own.
When clients come to me for their 360º kinesiology and wellness sessions, I will always muscle test their energy to see what key nutritional support they will need to help them balance their sugar cravings. The same will happen for you when you visit a Kinesiologist. Balancing sugar isn’t the only thing you will need to do.
Some Herbs That Can Help With Candida and Fungal OverGrowth
When it comes to fungal overgrowth one of the best herbs is Oregano. You may already have this great healing herb in your cupboard. You can put it in your soups and stews or take it daily as a capsule. Sage is another great herb for balancing a fungus.
Other herbs that could be helpful are Pau D’arco, Echinacea, Golden Seal, Garlic and Ginger. Black walnut is also good and can help too with balance a parasitic overload (talked about in an earlier post), with Clove and Wormwood. Epigenetics-International do a Wormwood Combination capsule which is great for treating parasitic overloads.
Nutrition That Might Help With Sugar Carvings and Candida
Chromium can Help balance Sugar Cravings by managing the blood-brain chemistry. Magnesium helps regulate the glucose in our body. Manganese can help bring a fungal overload into balance. Vitamin D can help boost our immune system as can zinc and vitamin C.
There are many more key nutrients that we can use, but not all will work in the same for for everyone. Some nutrients may help one person but they may not help another. Another reason for going to a Systematic Kinesiologist to find out what exactly you need to help you get your life back into balance.
The Most Important Piece of Information on Nutrition
When we are over-stressed all the nutrients we take and energy we have will go to helping us prepare for flight and fight. That is why managing stress is the most important part of any Wellness Plan.
Beat Stress – Be Your Own Best Friend
In the last post I talked about how stresses can cause blocks in your energy system creating those conditions for fungal overgrowths. Stress is causing the upset that is leading to the emotional craving for sugar. Stress is anything that you perceive or see as not being in your best interests. Anything that causes you to feel threatened and not believe that you can cope.
Believe In Yourself – Believe You Can Cope
Bottom line, when we believe we can cope, we generally do cope – even in the most dire of stressful conditions. For a long time in my life I coped better with stress than I did without it. That is because I was used to being stressed. I was addicted to the stress hormones pumping in my body, so much so that when they weren’t pumping around my body I didn’t know how to cope.
I Thrived On Stress Until I Got Sick From It
Yes! I was the person who could say – ‘give me a stressful situation, any stressful situation and I will flourish in it.’ That was until I fatigued my energy system so much that I totally collapsed and it took me many years to recover enough to feel I could live my life again. Experience now tells me that the older I get the less I am able to cope with prolonged stressful situations. This is because the body has a ‘Tipping Point’. It has its elastic limit.
You can over-stress your human body to the point of breaking it. I have no doubt you may already know this at some level in your own life. That is why you need to become your own best friend, especially when it comes to managing stress. You need to find a way to resolve and retune the blips and blocks in your energy system so you are not always setting off a stress response inside yourself.
Candida and Fungal Overgrowth – How Do I Be My Own Best Friend?
Here is a list of some of the things I do to help me maintain a healthy body and mind – keeping me balanced and surfing the waves of stress you might find it helpful for your own life
- I take time every day to scan my life and my body to get an overall sense of how I am.
- I exercise daily
- I walk in daylight
- I tell people when I have had enough
- I talk to a trusted and save someone
- I use a form of Tapping called Two Meridian Tapping
- I journal
- I take time to breathe – holding my hands on the Solar Plexus Area
- I eat homemade most of the time
- In winter I make soups, hot dinners and natural shakes
- I stay off processed sugar and when I do take processed sugar I take it in small amounts rarely
- I drink 2 litres of water a day, warmer in winter
- I go to bed with no devices
- I take organic and natural nutritional supplements
- I attend a Kinesiologist
Stay Warm and Dry During The Fungal Overgrowth Seasons
In summer time it is easier to stay warm and dry because temperatures are higher, the land is that little bit dryer and we have more sunlight which does literally energise the body. For most of autumn, winter and spring, we are lacking vitamin D, C and other key nutrients due to the lack of daylight, sunshine and heat. Some years I will fly off to a hotter climate if I can to help boost my natural wellness. Other years I will take more nutrition. I find out what I need to take from attending my own Kinesiologist.
Eating Warm Foods Helps Stay Warm Inside
I also eat hot or warm foods when it is wet, damp and cold because I know cold foods create a cold environment in me and then a fungal overgrowth can happen. Foods like homemade soups, stews and other warm meals. I stay away from yeast foods like breads, buns and cakes. My motto is, if it isn’t in the shopping trolly I am less likely to buy it and eat it! I will wear a scarf when I go outside and cover my mouth so I protect myself for the damp and moist air because this is where pathogens can enter the body.
I tend to stay indoors at night and rest in heat and comfort. If I can, I travel less in Ireland always wrapping up warm so I feel cosy and comfortable.
