You’ll Always Know When You’re Anxious
Being anxious can be one of the greatest debilitating experiences in life. It can leave you stuck to a wall with your heart racing and your stomach doing summer salts. Your body can begin to overheat with the increasing feeling of wanting to throw-up. You really feel the urge to run, to get away to safety. Even when you are standing in your own kitchen or bedroom, you can still want to run.
What I Know about Anxiety
I know all about how debilitating anxiety is. I suffered non-trigger panic attacks some years ago. I had many experiences each day of feeling I was going to throw-up. I wanted to run away, but I wasn’t sure what I was running from. I didn’t actually know what I was running from. I just knew I had to get away.
I know that when I’m anxious, it is an indication that I am over-stressed. So overstressed, that my neurotransmitters have gone out of balance and I am fluctuating between a state of panic and feeling depressed. I logically knew this when I was having these panic attacks, but, nothing seemed logical when I was in them. Nothing seemed to keep me steady. My doctor wanted me to go on medication and I did for a few months. But while this did calm the attacks I didn’t feel myself at all, I came off the medication as soon as I could and the attacks came back much worse.
Tapping Works on All Anxiety States
So I tried Tapping. Tapping is the process of tapping certain energy points on the body while thinking specific thoughts. It has been clinically proven to reduce stress hormones in the body and to calm the parts of the brain that trigger the stress response. You see, stress is what really causes anxiety attacks. I’m not just referring to the normal day to day stress, but when stress has grown so big that we are triggering an automatic stress response all of the time. When this happens we will get overloaded with stress hormones, and lack the ability to cope. When we are in the constant stress response for a long period of time, the result will be anxiety attacks also known as panic attacks. We can even go between a state of anxiety and depression.
When We Are Overstressed We Cannot Think Straight
In this overstressed state, we lose our ability to engage our conscious logical brain – that would tell us we are okay, we are having a panic attack and it will pass. We feel there will be no logical answer and we really need to run away. This is normal. Our body is in an overstressed state and it needs to get out of it so it can try and calm down. When the automatic brain is in control the most dominant thoughts tend to get to run the show. These generally tend to be from our younger years, hence why we can use language like, I can’t cope, or I can’t do this.
Tapping Calmed my Over-Stressed Anxiety Attacks
Tapping literally calmed me right down. I got relief from the overstressed state I was in and I was able to refocus my whole life. I still use Tapping daily, because stress doesn’t go away, it is there all the time. But I now deal with it differently, by using tools like tapping and positive thinking and making choices for my own health and wellness everyday.
Tapping helps us Retune our Energy
I call this whole experience ‘retuning’. You see, we are energy beings. Every single one of our 50 trillion cells is filled with tiny strings of vibrational energy. That is good news. Vibrations can be tuned and retuned, just like the strings on my guitar – I can retune the thoughts that are causing me to get overstressed. I find that these thoughts normally come from my past subconscious memory bank and are being triggered by current events. But once I use tapping and my Process of Resolution, I can manage to totally retune my thinking patterns and then I don’t get stressed. Seriously – I can prevent myself from triggering a stress response. Even better I can retune my thinking, using the tapping to make it positive and success focused.
How many times have you heard the phrase, what you focus on is what you get. Well it is true. What we focus on is what we get. What we focus on also decides how we feel. When I am positive, I cannot feel a negative feeling. When I am focused on sadness or fear, I equally cannot feel a positive feeling.
Calming Stress will calm anxiety attacks
One of the key ways to calm your anxiety attacks is to calm stress. As I explained above, Tapping can really help us to do this. More stress Calming Habits
I also make sure I am sipping enough water through my day, roughly around 200mls an hour from 8AM to 6PM makes 2 litres – making water drinking easy when you break it down. Avoid processed foods, try to eat natural and heated foods especially in the winter time. Exercise is key to helping us manage stress. I Rebound and find it key to maintaining my wellness. Another key thing is to get to bed and make your sleeping experience a good one. That means, turn off all the gadgets in the room and perhaps put them down an hour before bed. Another gapped thing to do is make everything manageable by breaking tasks into bite size achievable pieces.
