Having An Attitude of Gratitude Brings Great Rewards
“I truly am grateful”. This my gratitude phrase. I say this phrases like this because I personally know that having an attitude of gratitude is good for my mental and physical health. Sometimes I add to it, like “I truly am grateful for this day”. I think and say gratitude phrases throughout my day and always encourage others to do the same.
WHY?
Everything is energy, even things like thoughts and beliefs. Every thought and belief we have sends out a vibration which the universe will match with more of the same vibration. Thoughts of gratitude will send out a vibration of gratitude which the universe matches with more opportunities to allow you to be even more grateful.
The challenge is to find lots of ways to be grateful, or lots of things to be grateful for – the birds singing, my loving and committed partner, my fabulous and safe car, the stranger who just smiled at me, etc.
More than this. When we are focused on being grateful, we are thinking positive thoughts. Positive thoughts bring with them positive feelings, just as negative thoughts bring negative feelings. Thinking thoughts of gratitude will literally boost your mental health and overall wellbeing. So how can you focus on gratitude?
My Daily Attitude of Gratitude
Every morning I set my Attitude of Gratitude focus. I write down at least five things that I am grateful for and really allow myself to feel deep gratitude. Try this for yourself. Set yourself a challenge of finding 5 things to be grateful for every morning. Really feel grateful. It might seem a difficult task to do at first, but I promise you that it will get easier.
There were times when I was grateful for the blue sky that I knew was behind all the dark clouds in the sky. Other days I might have been grateful to know that this stress will pass like the clouds in the sky pass. I know how hard it can be to feel grateful or to think grateful thoughts, but I also know I control my thoughts and I can choose to find even the smallest of things to be grateful for.
I’ve been in that space, of struggling to be grateful, more often than I would care to admit! I also know that now I have automatic and spontaneous thoughts and feelings of gratitude even when life can seem a challenge. It may be that I am grateful for being able to brush my teeth. That is how simple the thought can be.
Trust In The Process
Trust me, when you consciously do this exercise for a committed period of time, say two-three months, you create a new and positive sub conscious thought pattern. In this case it will be one of feeling grateful. This sends out its own positive vibration which will attract more of the same vibration to it. Then all of a sudden, you arrive at a place where you have so many things in your life to be grateful for, and you will wonder how your life turned around. The answer will be – To Your Grateful Heart More Has Been Given. Remember that having an attitude of gratitude is only one part of an overall wellness programme that we need to have so that every vibration is tuned to as positive a frequency we can find.
